The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship. It was very well organised and gave me a great insight into what it is like to work for PwC.
My colleagues instantly made me feel part of the team which made my experience very enjoyable. Everyone always made time to sit down with me and go through the work I did for them, and were always happy to answer any questions I had.
There was always someone around to go to if I ever needed help. Even the partner, director and managers were willing to help out and give me guidance on tasks I needed to complete.
I never felt as if I had nothing to do. I was set a few projects when I first began and was given various tasks in between to give me a varied work load. There was always people around to ask for work if I was running low.
During my internship I was trusted to do work directly relating to the clients which was a big responsibility and also allowed to go along to client meetings. I was set some challenging tasks not just general admin tasks. The team set me similar work to what they would set the new graduates.
I learnt some valuable skills which will be beneficial in my future career like communication skills. In terms of my degree it was interesting to see how some of the things I have already learnt about actually works in the real business world.
The Company
I was in a regional office and loved it. Because it was fairly small it was easy to get to know everyone, and the team was very welcoming. I was able to get involved in the team socials which was a lot of fun.
From start to finish I felt the internship was very well organised. Through out the internship there were a few events where we got to meet up with other interns, which was nice in order to network and meet people in the same shoes. The training program was well structured and with in my office my work for the internship was well organised.
The first week of the internship was spent training. It is apparent that the company do invest in helping their staff be the best they can and helping equip them with the necessary skills.
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
PwC seems like a great company to work for. It is a young company and there are numerous opportunities with in the firm i.e. to try a different line of service. They look after their staff and provide them with numerous perks.
The Culture
As I was in a regional office there was not many other interns with me. However we still met up and socialised when possible. My team had a social whilst I was there which was great to be able to be a part of, but they also had a few after work drinks.
The cost of food and drink in the area I would say was average or just above.
There is plenty of clubs in the area.
Besides drinks and socials there was not any other activities to get involved in.
