The Role
It was very enjoyable, colleagues were very friendly and helpful. It helped me develop some very valuable professional and life skills.
Colleagues were respectful, understanding and took time to explain or answer any questions I had.
I spoke to my managers on a daily basis. They were my primary contacts within the office. They explained the tasks well and offered support whenever I requested.
Some days were busier than others, however, I could always seek more work from my manager whenever I felt the workload was a bit light.
Quite a bit, however, it showed that they trusted me with both larger projects as well as smaller everyday tasks.
Will help with every future professional aspect of my life.
The Company
I was the only intern in my department and everyone else was quite busy so the office was mostly quiet.
The process was a bit rushed, so sourcing accommodation and making other plans were quite stressful.
Managers and other colleagues were very happy to impart onto me any knowledge that they thought would be helpful. Also, they encouraged any interests I had with respect to getting exposure to other departments.
Future employment aspects are very appealing! Their Graduate programme is ideal for graduates looking to begin a career in the Retail Banking Industry.
The Culture
Made friends with the other interns in my building, otherwise there aren't much social events organised by other Santander colleagues.
Rent came up to half the salary. But other expenses were reasonable.
Not sure, but there were quite a few good students clubs/bars and restaurants around the area.
Not particularly.
