The Role
The work wasn't very interesting but there were other things to get involved in
I was given a lot of responsibility from the very beginning
Monthly meetings with Personal Development Manager and monthly meetings with task manager, but on a day-to-day basis I was expected to function independently like any other employee
There was some work each day that was critical, but nowhere near a full day's worth so I never had to work late. Most of the day was just working on the backlog of jobs
Lots from the very beginning
A year working in a real company
The Company
Fairly standard
The scheme as a whole was set up well - lots of other placement students. My particular placement could have done with more of an introduction/training
Lots of training available
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Car
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
International Travel
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Healthcare from home
Healthcare/Dental
Travel loan
Decent as the company is so large that the job really depends on where you end up
The Culture
Lots going on
Very expensive
Not much
Lots of IBM stuff going on
