The Role
I was given a task of the same complexity as a casual employee and I felt continuous support from my teammates and my manager
I was treated as a full-fledged team member, after-work drinks, catch-ups and also work-related discussions (my opinion was taken into consideration when deciding which way to go)
When I have felt any issues arising, my manager was there for me. He also made sure I was motivated and feel valued
Seldom have I felt bored
I was given a task of quite an importance to the team, which will allow them to work more efficiently
I have learnt a couple of new things/tricks
The Company
My team was unreal, everyone was relaxed but in a good way and someone would bring treats (cakes, ice creams, candies from overseas) every couple of days
There was a bit of chaos in the very beginning (getting access to the building, getting the PC set up etc), but that was the only hassle to be fair
There were a couple of learning sessions and access to online courses and ebooks, so if someone wanted to learn something new, the opportunity was there for sure
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
I was able to get an offer, as a reasonable amount of my peers, so it is definitely feasible
The Culture
A couple of events for all the peers and some division-oriented as well
Canary Wharf is by far not a cheap part of London, so be prepared to pay at least a fiver for a pint. If you find a place near work then you can save on the transportation which makes it ok
A lot of pubs/bars, but no clubs
Loads of social clubs and volunteering opportunities
