About You
I really enjoyed this insight week. It was both informative and extremely well structured. I particularly enjoyed the way the week provided deep insights into the different divisions as well as my chosen preference of the Risk division.
HR made sure that we were accommodated throughout the week at all times. I felt that the firm really made sure that our questions were answered well and really wanted to talk to us as individuals.
There was strong support throughout the week. The different sessions such as those focussed on presentation skills provided guidance for the activities we were doing later in the week which was very useful.
The skills I learnt regarding public speaking and presenting will be very useful in my degree and future career. Also the teamwork skills developed will be very helpful and will continue to be developed.
The Company
As previously mentioned the insight week was very well structured. The team did an excellent job of structuring the week and the time we had was effectively used. I think the structure of the week made the week so enjoyable.
The atmosphere reflected very well for BAML. Everyone was both friendly and willing to help with any queries we had. I met some great peers as well as networking with the employees and will be keeping in contact with them.
The skill sessions were particularly helpful in developing our skills. It was clear a strong effort had been made to make the week as informative and enjoyable as possible.
I found the work shadowing and networking the most insightful into what working at BAML would be like. I found information I could never have known from simply reading about the firm on their website.
The culture was at the core of each session and it was clear to see that BAML has moved in a definite direction to be a very well run bank with a significant focus on teamwork and being one team.
I found the work shadowing very valuable. After the week I was decided on which division of the bank I wanted to apply for and where my interests lie.
Everything Else
We were reimbursed for all travel and given accommodation for the week.
There was at least 2 networking opportunities per day.
The first evening was a networking drinks and there were several networking lunches/sessions. All were good opportunities. The final networking dinner was great especially being able to talk to more senior workers in the bank.
There were sessions about the voluntary work done by employees as well as the individual groups they also have.
