About You
I enjoyed my work experience greatly as I was able observe the day to day work if the solicitors as well as sit in on a court case.
I was only at the firm for a week, so there wasn't much of an opportunity for me to do do anything on my own, but everyone made sure I had things to do and gave me plenty of feedback.
I was given a buddy to guide me through my time at the firm, as well as a supervising partner. They both ensured I was comfortable with all the tasks I was given.
I was only there for a week, but the experience certainly gave me a good idea of what's expected by graduate recruitment officers and how best to optimise my chances of obtaining a training contract.
The Company
I re keyed a morning of introductory talks, as well as a talk from the graduate recruitment officer and the opportunity to give a presentation at the end of the week.
Everyone was friendly and proffessional, and everyone from the trainees to the partners seemed anxious to make me feel at home and give me the best possible experience.
We were giiven a talk from the graduate recruitment officer and also given the opportunity to learn kills that the firm found desirable in graduate recruits.
I was allowed to sit in on telephone meetings, both with clients and between colleagues, and sat in on a court case.
I talked to people of varying levels of experience and watched them interact with one another.
I saw in detail the day to day work a solicitor undertakes as well as the skills needed.
Everything Else
I was not paid or reimbursed as this was a 'Friends and Family' scheme run by the firm.
There was very little opportunity to meet employees from other departments of the firm.
N/A
It's not something I discussed with the employees.
Everyone was friendly and helpful.
