    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Overall I enjoyed it. I learned a lot about tax in particular VAT and I met a lot of nice people.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was invited to Friday team socials but I felt that my colleagues could have approached me more often than they did whether it would be about work or just getting to know me.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had a buddy and a people manager who were both extremely supportive. I could always approach them if I had a question and were always helpful.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Unfortunately as it was the summer ever so often a few people would go away on holiday. This coupled with the fact that it was a very quiet period in the office meant that I didn't have a great deal of work. Also as I had no technical training I was of limited use to my colleagues.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Despite the lack of knowledge I was given some responsibility. One job involved preparing a presentation that would be sent directly to a client.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I was able to develop my team working, communication and organisation skills which will be useful in anything I do in the future.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was nice. It was quite relaxed and a lot of people are quite young so it is not very intimidating.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Workplace was organised but could've been a bit more structured in terms of ensuring I had some work to do.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Difficult to invest in me because it was only a six week internship. But they did encourage a lot of training to gain knowledge of the area because any job offer would be in the same team as the one I worked in on the internship.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 1/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would really like to work with PwC because the culture within the organisation is really great. The people I met are friendly and I'm sure this is the case across the organisation.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Some other interns organised some nights out but generally I socialised within my team. Fridays we always went out to lunch and there were regular Friday night drinks in one of the local bars.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I lived at home but there were a lot of bars and pubs to choose from in the area. Drinks weren't overly expensive but given it was central London it wasn't cheap either.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Very rarely went out at night in the area (just wanted to relax after work)

    1/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • PwC have programmes outside work but I didn't get involved as I was only on a six week internship.

    3/5
