About You
I really enjoyed the insight, I felt working in London was exhausting but extremely exciting due to the diversity of business experience available
I felt valued, it was lovely to receive good feedback and to be asked to keep in contact with my final manager.
I was encouraged to ask questions which were always answered as quickly and in as much depth as was possible
The work was quite different from my degree studies of politics, but I really developed universal skills such as communication and analysis. Industry specific skills of accountancy were also enhanced.
The Company
Very well - split into a two week placement with one client and a single week with another - just enough time to gain a real insight into each entity.
Really exciting, helpful, supportive and not as competitive as I had imagined
I felt valued and was given quite a lot of responsibility for certain procedures which I would be confident to repeat if I worked on a similar job in the future
To a great extent, particularly as I had worked for Deloitte before, I felt I was treated as an equal to the other employees on the audit team
A great deal, particularly as I was invited to extra curricular events and told about their charitable/ 'green' work - a very varied and interesting culture was introduced to me
It was extremely valuable and defied a number of expectations I (along with many I have spoken to) have about accountancy.
Everything Else
I was paid
Yes plenty, networking and gaining new clients seems to be a central part of Deloitte's work ethic
Many - meals with clients, lunches with new starters etc.
Yes, I think I was working with a particularly sporty team as I was told about many of the sporting and charitable activities Deloitte supports
Definitely, if they were prepared for challenging yet interesting and diverse work
