The Role
I really enjoyed my summer placement.
I felt that my office was like a small family and it was nice to be accepted into the group and made feel welcome.
There was always help available if I asked.
I was busy for a few weeks doing the exact same thing for a project (doing document review) and then for the last two weeks of my placement, there wasn't a lot for me to do.
I was on document review for most of my placement so I didn't have much responsibility or the chance to try more of the different work my office did.
My technical skills have impoved as well as my SQL knowledge, which is useful.
The Company
Busy and lively.
I felt that the Belfast office were out-of-the-loop slightly, especially as there were only two 11 week summer interns so we never had the chance to come up with a Dragon's Den idea because it would be difficult to meet up with people in the rest of the UK.
They trained us up in the technical side of things but I can't think of anything in terms of personal training and development.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
I am not sure as I didn't get an offer. I would consider working there in the future though.
The Culture
Everyone got on and organised meet ups.
Not too expensive.
There are a lot of pubs and clubs in Belfast.
There were a lot of social events in my office such as a weekend away, a barbecue and team nights out.
