About You
The Company
We were given the opportunity to sit with partners and associates in the departments we were working in. We were able to get involved by attending client meetings and client events which made the experience 'real' and similar to what we could expect as a trainee.
I was given research tasks that current trainees had been given by their supervisors. This gave me a real insight into the type of work I could expect as a trainee at Taylor Wessing.
I found the two weeks very useful in helping me to decide Taylor Wessing was the firm I wanted to work at. Participating in the vacation scheme is important as it gives you an insight into the culture of the firm, the type of people that Taylor Wessing attracts and the work you have the opportunity to become involved in.
We were given insight sessions each day which introduced us to the different departments and areas of law that Taylor Wessing specialises in. This was very useful in helping me decide whether Taylor Wessing was the right firm for me.
Everything Else
I was paid.
Through the arranged insight sessions and lunches we had the opportunity to network with partners, associates and trainees in other departments. We were also able to network at client events.
There were two social events during the scheme. This was an important part of the scheme as we were able to spend time getting to know fellow vac schemers and trainees outside the work environment.
We were given a talk on activities and pro-bono work that we could get involved in outside work. There are plenty of things to get involved in!
I would definitely recommend this placement to a friend as I thought it was very well organised and an enjoyable two weeks!
