The Role
It was a fantastic experience which gave a great insight into the daily workings of a top company. Work was tailored to my skill level and everyone was really helpful.
I couldn't have asked for a nicer group of colleagues, everyone was friendly and welcoming from the start and I made friends quickly.
Support was always on hand and it was never too much trouble for anyone to take the time to explain things. This made working at PwC more enjoyable as I actually understood what I was being asked to do.
There was always plenty of work going around; however my buddy ensured I had a wide variety of tasks to get a good feel for the business. I was never pressed for tight deadlines though and could work at my own pace.
I was given a fair amount of responsibility working on clients but there was always safety nets and checks from more senior colleagues. Which can only be a good thing as the work has to be 100% correct.
The internship has helped me become more organized, more efficient and given me more confidence. The day to day work at PwC has also given me a good background to some of the topics discussed in my Economics degree.
The Company
Atmosphere was warm and friendly. The interns were all made to feel part of the PwC family and regular social events were planned to keep everyone involved.
Everything from the application process right through to the final day was organized brilliantly and everything was all part of a bigger plan. Couldn't have asked for anything more.
PwC had a series of entire training days that looked at the interns as individuals helping them develop team working skills, presentation skills as well as providing a focus on each person's own brand image which was extremely effective.

Future prospects are excellent with interns being offered graduate roles if they perform well. Something I am relishing next year!
The Culture
My fellow interns and I often had lunch together to catchup on our day as well as having social outings once a week. This helped us all bond together and form a mini group.
I stayed at home so I'm unsure of the general cost of living but when socializing in the local area everything was reasonably priced.
I didn't attend any events too late in the night; however it was said to be very decent.
There were loads of opportunities to get involved in activities outside work, these normally took place weekly.
