The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at PwC and loved being able to work with people from a variety of different backgrounds.
All of my colleagues, no matter what level or position, were people I could talk to. They were keen to get to know me and always made time to ask me how my day was going.
All of the people I worked with were willing to give me coaching, even senior management. Through this, I was able to make the most of others' experiences.
The balance between work and free time was very good. I always felt challenged, but was never overburdened.
I was given enough responsibility to feel that my work had serious value. Some of the tasks I had to complete were quite technical and, in these situations, my colleagues were happy to have a look at what I had done.
My excel skills have developed significantly, and I now know my way around a spreadsheet quite competently. Most importantly, because I was in a client-facing role, I was able to greatly improve my people skills. This will be invaluable to me in the future.
The Company
The office was calm and professional. It was clear that teamwork was highly valued.
The internship was organised very well. It started off with an 'introductory' week, followed by five weeks of working with clients.
In the 'introductory' week we were taught in classes specific to our line of service. These classes were well taught, and very interactive. Most of this week was spent in a beautiful conference hotel in Northampton.

There is a clear ladder of progression. This makes it very helpful in knowing what is achievable, and at what time. This makes working for PwC very appealing.
The Culture
I socialised often with my fellow interns and colleagues. The atmosphere was great!
I lived at home. Socialising in London is generally quite pricey, especially in Central London.
There is an excellent nightlife in Central London and plenty of nice bars, restaurants and clubs to go to.
We were notified, by email, of several PwC-related activities we could get involved in outside of work. This included sports and afterwork socialising events.
