About You
Great balance between an in depth insight into every department at Taylor Wessing, the types of work they encounter and the role of a trainee, alongside social events.
Everyone working at the firm was extremely welcoming and encouraging, irrespective of their position.
Fantastic 'Trainee Buddy' and 'Supervisor' system! Not only were we allocated a Trainee Buddies to offer more in depth guidance for most tasks, but we were also given a Supervisor, in charge of offering guidance in more general. Everybody was extremely supportive.
In depth insight into life, not only at Taylor Wessing, but into how a law firm operates more generally.
The Company
We were allocated timetables for our fortnight at the start of our vacation scheme. Every morning of afternoon we had one or two 'Focus On' sessions, which allowed us to gain insight into each department at the firm. Socials were also structured well (once or twice a week). The timetable also allocated 'Presentation' time in order to meet with our groups.
Not only professional, but most importantly fun and extremely enjoyable!
'Focus on' sessions were interactive in most instances. I felt although we were given challenging tasks during our seats, but with enough support to not feel overwhelmed!
I learnt something new everyday (if not more!) and my desire to pursue a career in law was confirmed!
Everything Else
I was paid.
Firm drinks twice; Socials with the trainees twice; Invited to the Company talks during lunch breaks.
We had the opportunity to attend the Firm's pro brono scheme in Blackfriars. The trainees explained what opportunities were on offer such as a Netball team and a Chamber Choir!
I already have!
