The Role
I quite enjoyed my internship as I got to learn a lot about the financial industry and how big corporate institutions work.
I felt that the tasks i was given were of great interest to my colleagues, so that made me feel quite valued.
I was receiving support and feedback on a daily basis.
There were quite a lot of on the side projects that we were given, so that made our desk job quite busy. However I enjoyed working on the every task as I got to know a lot of the other interns.
I wasn't given that many responsibilities, however the tasks I was responsible for, i felt, were quite important to the management hence I believe the I work did added some value to my team's project.
A lot of the tasks I had to do were extremely related to my degree, so I got to apply and develop the knowledge I already had.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was quite professional, however we were always taking time to discuss some recent news or interesting topics.
The internship was very well set up, there were a lot of events throughout the 10 weeks I was an intern and all of them were organised perfectly.
The support i received during my internship and the different workshop I attended during that time definitely proves that RBS invested a lot in not only mine but all of the interns' development.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
I am definitely considering a further career with RBS, so I'd say the employment prospects are quite high.
The Culture
There were a lot of socials and projects that helped us all get to know each other better.
The office I worked in was in Central London, which of course is quite expensive area, however it was great for after work drinks and eating out.
A lot of young professionals are going out in the area I worked, so one could always meet some new interesting people or even already familiar colleagues.
Yes, there were a lot of sport events organized during my internship and not only for the interns but for all the employees, so you could always go to a squash tournament or kart racing.
