The Role
It was a great placement with friendly people and engaging work.
Despite only being there for 3 months I was given meaning work that would be used after I left the company. My colleagues genuinely respected my opinion and encouraged my personal development.
The support I was given by my supervisor was fantastic. I was challenged but never felt like I was left to struggle alone. He was always willing to answer questions and share his knowledge.
I was always busy and therefore never bored, but I never felt like I had too much to do or couldn't meet deadlines.
I was given a good amount of responsibility during my placement. I tailored my project to develop as I thought best with guidance from my supervisor whenever I asked for it.
I feel that this placement helped to improve my problem solving and programming.
The Company
The people in my office were very friendly despite the job lending itself to spending lots of time working individually at a computer.
The organisation was very good: my supervisor clearly outlined my project and regularly checked up on my progress.
They helped me develop as an individual and within the company, but formal development was limited due to my short time there.
Subsidised/Company Gym
Very. I intend to continue with the company as a graduate.
The Culture
My colleagues were fairly sociable, and the placement students very much so.
Not too expensive.
Very good. There are a lot of pubs, clubs and other venues within walking distance or a short bus/taxi ride.
I was mainly interested in sporting opportunities which were plentiful.
