Commercial Assistant Review

After about 6 months I got bored with what I was doing as I was comfortable with it and didnt find it challenging enough. I did however, quite enjoy the organisation as a whole and the people that I worked with.

My close collegues in my department valued my contributions. But many of the other employees wern't aware of what I did and the impact it had on the business, so it could be quite frustrating.

My direct management were quite supportive and always happy to give advice and help.

It was quite variable, when everything was working correctly and tasks were straight-forward I got bored and struggled to keep myself occupied. But occasionally things got busy and time passed a lot quicker

As I got more comfortable with every day tasks, I was given the oppotunity to take on my own project and more responsibility to implement my own ideas and changes to imporve the way the organisationa and my job worked.

Not really much in relation ot my course. I did a lot of work on Excel and report anaylsing, and there were no modules that I could take that took into account these skills. But other general business skills such as commuication, time management and problem solving will stand me in good stead for my futute career.

Lots of banter via e-mail and with colleagues in the workplace, I thoroughly enjoyed the social aspect of work. With both students and normal employees

A good induction day, and induction training in the first couple of weeks. A standard 2 week handover as well with the person you are taking over from

In some areas especially at the start of the placement, but I feel they could've used the students expertise and ideas more, but possibly didnt becuase they knew we were only there temporarily.

There is no graduate scheme with JC specifically but opportunities are there with other Johnson & Johnson companies. There is option of going back to the orgnisation through the Salesman route, but this doesn't appeal to me.

Definately, I have made some really good friends. I even managed to acquire one friend from Portugal so helped myself to a nice trip to Lisbon towards the end of my placement!

Pretty cheap for me, I lived at home so didnt have to pay rent. I know other students had to pay quite a high amount for rent though.

In High Wycombe its limited, but nice places such as Marlow, Watford, Reading and of course London arent that far away for a good night out

There was a really good Sports & Social Club which was mainly students and organised trips to the theatre, bowling etc. We even did the 3 Peaks challenge (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike & Snowdon)
