The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the company. It has given me an insight into the real working world with excellent experience. I was given a range of interesting tasks to complete.
Everyone at the facility was very welcoming and friendly and treated me as one of their colleagues, not a student.
I could always ask if I required any assistance or support. I was welcomed with an induction pack which covered a lot of the support and guidance.
I had a variety of tasks to complete each day and each day my tasks would change. This kept the role interesting and meant I was gaining a lot more experience in different areas of the company. On some days I would have less to do but would use my initiative to find things to do or complete University work.
I had one main event to plan for and was giving a lot of responsibility for this. This included the launch of a new product. It was a very important event so there was also pressure with this responsibility. I really enjoyed knowing I had all this responsibility.
I am now using the skills I learnt and the experiences gained for my final year at university. It is really useful for projects and assignments.
The Company
Everyone was really friendly and got on well. It was not all serious but remained professional. It was a very fun environment.
The organisation from head office was excellent where everything went smoothly. The organisation at the actual facility was okay but could have been improved. I was the first placement student on the sales and marketing scheme so this may be why.
I was offered many of the same training courses as the permanent employees.

As a smaller facility, there was not a job role available when I left but was told that this could change and should apply if a job comes up or apply elsewhere in the company.
The Culture
There was only one other placement student so the social side with colleagues outside of work was not so good.
It was reasonably priced for a location near the sea as I chose to live nearer Bournemouth than Wimborne.
The area of Wimborne is not good for nightlife but Bournemouth is fairly near which is excellent for nightlife.
There were some but I did not take advantage of this so know little about this
