The Role
I had a great experience at GSK. Everyone was friendly and supportive. I was given many opportunities and trusted to interact with suppliers.
I was put into a great team. They were all very friendly and supported me 100%. My team were relaxed and made me feel welcome.
I was supported throughout my placement. My team made sure that I visited supplier sites as well as the GSK manufacturing sites to ensure that I was able to see all sides of the business.
I always had tasks and projects to complete. I was also given projects that I had to lead which also involved carrying out investigative work and analysis.
I was giving a lot of responsibilities during my Placement. I would interact with suppliers and I was also giving projects to complete by myself. I was trusted to accompany a team member on 2 occasions abroad to assist with supplier ideation sessions.
I was given the opportunity to improve on my computer skills attending Excel training courses which will assist me in the future. I also received a lot of training and experience regarding contract work as well as other elements of the business.
The Company
The office was friendly and welcoming whilst still maintaining a professional manner.
I had a coordinator who would have regular meetings with me to understand what I was doing and how I was progressing throughout my placement. I was also given a mentor who was a graduate and they would share their experience with me and I could talk to them at any time.
I was sent on 2 Excel training courses and I also went off site to learn about the manufacturing sites as well as going to visit supplier sites in the UK and abroad.

I am on a direct entry list which I have been put down for a couple of departments and I had also applied for their graduate scheme
The Culture
Their were activities planned throughout the years specifically for the placement students as well as general social gatherings after work with peers.
I lived at home so I did not incur any extra costs there and socialising wasn't that expensive, it depended on where we decided to go.
There was nightlife about a mile away from where I worked where you will always find something to do and it is not that expensive.
There were opportunities to participate in a few fundraisers and also the company held different events that I could participate in as a volunteer.
