The Role
My placement year felt like a real job which made the experience more fulfilling.
I felt very valued by my colleagues - the HR team look out for each other and many form strong bonds.
I was given a lot of support and guidance by my first supervisor, however after she left for another company, I reported into her manager who was much more senior and had less time to give support or guidance, which made the role more difficult.
Exceedingly busy as I worked in a small team at a busy time.
A lot. After my first supervisor left but before they replaced her, I was often the only person in the team in the office as the manager worked part time. This meant I often had to make quick decisions by myself until the new team member joined.
My understanding of how large corporations work will help with my degree, whilst my ability to handle difficult situations has increased.
The Company
Friendly.
There was little central input into the placement schemes, however my cohort set up a monthly community of practice group for the Business Placement Students in order to share knowledge and learn more about the company.
I attended a few courses whilst working at Ford.
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
I have been told that I will be offered a graduate job, subject to hiring authority.
The Culture
Very good.
I lived in Chelmsford which was affordable, although spent some nights out in London which was somtimes more expensive.
Sugarhut was a must..!
I joined a netball team in Chelmsford which some of my colleagues were on also.
