The Role
I had a great time working with Arup. My task's were consistently engaging and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
My colleagues treated me as one of their own from day one. During my time, I got to know a variety of people and got a build some strong relationships.
Support was always on offer from a variety of sources. My supervisor was always understanding when I had questions and would always point me in the right direction.
I always had something to do. There was not a single day I was bored.
I was given a work package and was wholly responsible for the delivery of it.
I have already used some of the skills I gained at university and will continue to do so as a move forward this year.
The Company
The atmosphere was very good. The team spirit was something I enjoyed.
From the first day to the last, I always had things to do. My desk was set up when I got there with all the usernames and passwords given to me.
Although I was only there for 4 weeks, I still attended multiple health and safety training courses. Arup was also helpful when I enquired about my continued personal development.
Company Parties/Events
I would love to work for Arup in the future and it was the first application I have completed this year. I am still waiting to hear on the results.
The Culture
I got to know two of the summer placement students very well. I also got to know some of the team outside of work in a social setting.
Leeds is a fairly cheap city and I go to university here so I know how to save money.
Leeds has a great nightlife.
During my four weeks I joined the Arup 5-aside football team. This was a great chance to get to know people outside of my team.
