The Role
Overall, I enjoyed it very much. It was hard work but it was also a lot of fun.
All colleagues made me feel welcome at all times. People were always friendly and helpful.
Guidance was given when necessary. There was a good structure for measuring your general progression but you were expected to use your initiative and common sense a lot of the time.
Varied from day to day. Working hours could be quite long.
Given a very good amount of responsibility right from the beginning, despite being from a very different academic background and knowing little about accountancy.
Great insight into working for a large company.
The Company
Was very rarely in the actual office but the atmosphere within the various teams was always great.
Very well organised- great induction. Good personal development management (assigned a counsellor and a buddy).
Very informative 3 day induction focused on the company and service lines.

Received a graduate job offer - was also able to change location of job offer.
The Culture
Great social scene with both other interns and general colleagues. Had a social budget that the interns used for drinks several times. Pizza making, bowling etc. was also organised for us, as was an end of internship ball. Went for after-work drinks with other colleagues too.
Fairly average- moved locations a couple of times so it varied. Travel expenses are reimbursed however.
Great variety of bars in Birmingham.
Several sports clubs and social networks (eg. Women's society).
