The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed my internship at EY. The programme was very well organised and the induction events made the experience less intimidating.
Every person I worked with treated me as a part of the team, not once did I feel like 'just' an intern.
Throughout the experience my counsellor regularly communicated with me to find out how I was getting on. Every manager I worked with carefully described instructions to be and made sure I fully understood what I was doing before I started working.
There were days through my internship which I did not have much work to do as I had finished tasks which had been assigned to me. However, this did mean I worked on a variety of clients as I was diong small jobs for different people when I was idle.
I was given about as much responsibility as a graduate which meant that the work I was doing was real and would be part of the full audit. I was also given the opportunity to attend a few confidential meetings with clients
The networking skills gained whilst being at EY have helped me build up the confidence to approach people in my classes I do not know to discuss my course material with.
The Company
Office was very friendly, everyone went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and included.
There were times when I did not have much work to do so things could have been better organised in that sense
Despite my placement only being for 6 weeks everyone I was working with spent lots of their own time training me
I have accepted a graduate job
The Culture
The induction and final event was a great way if meeting other students
Cost on living was reasonable
A variety of events were on in the area each night
Not particularly
