The Role
Helpful employees and a good selection of interns, work not too challenging or patronising
I felt very welcome
I was given far more help than I could have expected
At times I had to find work, and I am used to working harder at university, but this was probably deliberate to not scare interns
I was allowed to meet fairly senior clients and produce deliverables
It was largely powerpoint-based, whilst at university I study an essay subject - beyond, the broad experiences may be more useful
The Company
Not much was laid on for interns, but colleagues socialised fairly often
A few expected hiccups but overall the process was well-run
For a 6-week placement, basic training in SQL and Spotfire was a great honour
Sports and Social Club
In the short-term the training seems good, but in the medium/long-term from what I could see many people consider leaving a necessity in order to progress
The Culture
I found interns willing to go to the pub, and colleagues (especially the sports teams) were good fun - but few 'compulsory' socialising events were put on
Drink and food is expensive
Good clubs and pubs
CSR and rugby were on offer and well-advertised
