The Role
I enjoyed the placement immensely, I was able to apply many skills and learn many more. Easily my best job yet.
I worked as part of a small team and always felt involved and like an integral part of the team. I got on very well with all who I worked with. Also, as there were a number of undergraduates working in a variety of roles at the same site, there were others going through the same experiences as myself.
I was given a great amount of support in everything I did and my supervisor was always there to offer help and advice whenever needed.
Extremely busy, however, I enjoyed having such a packed workload and was able to thrive completing a varied and interesting workload.
I was given a lot of responsibilities partly as I became more skilled and partly because of circumstances in the department.
I gained and improved many skills over the placement, became much more knowledgeable and was able to develop myself personally as well. I have become far more employable and now have good career prospects as a result of my placement.
The Company
The atmosphere was good, friendly enough with some laughs but the office was also a productive environment so it wasn't non-stop socialising.
Very well, this site is well used to having a number of placement students and integrates the placements well into the workplace and individual departments.
A lot of time and resource was invested into me in training, I was also shown a number of skills and processes on the job too meaning I was trained in a varied way which was good for my learning. I never felt like I was thrown in at the deep end and completely out of my depth despite having responsibilities.

I am currently working part time for the company during my final of study. I hope to be able to secure a full time job at the end of my studies.
The Culture
Definitely, there were a large number of placement students and we met up a lot and went on many social events.
Lived at home, socialising wasn't too expensive though.
Good, very close to Huddersfield town centre.
I was able to get involved in many activities outside work like subsidized football, gym trips to sporting events such as touring cars and I will be going on a trip to the USA next year subsidized by the company. There were also other activities I never had time to get involved in such as squash.
