    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Great combination of learning on the job and social activities. Brilliant networking opportunities, and everyone is keen to help you!

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Realistically your skills are minimal, so you won't be a massive contribution to the team. That said, you're there to learn!

    2/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Great support via the mentor initiative, the buddy system, and of course the student recruitment team. Amongst your team in the workplace though, not too much (they're busy!)

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Barely busy (sorry to say). Work levels fluctuate, and I came at a time when there was really nothing going on in Financial Services.

    2/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Not much, but then again, you have no skills!

    2/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Realistically, an internship plays no part in your degree studies. However, gaining an insight into the realities of working in finance is critical to understanding where you want your career to take you (also pretty nice to put on your CV!)

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Since there wasn't much work, not much was going on in my team.

    2/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well organised and structured, with lots to keep us busy!

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They take a lot of time training you, making you feel welcome, giving you a diverse insight into the work the firm does, etc

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Company Car

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    National Travel

    International Travel

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • EY is a big name, and is known to provide great training to its staff.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • So much socialising going on!

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Central London, so realistically prices were high.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Not right by the office per say, but in Central London there is an infinite amount to do!

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Sports activities, socials, CSR days, etc

    4/5
