The Role
Great combination of learning on the job and social activities. Brilliant networking opportunities, and everyone is keen to help you!
Realistically your skills are minimal, so you won't be a massive contribution to the team. That said, you're there to learn!
Great support via the mentor initiative, the buddy system, and of course the student recruitment team. Amongst your team in the workplace though, not too much (they're busy!)
Barely busy (sorry to say). Work levels fluctuate, and I came at a time when there was really nothing going on in Financial Services.
Not much, but then again, you have no skills!
Realistically, an internship plays no part in your degree studies. However, gaining an insight into the realities of working in finance is critical to understanding where you want your career to take you (also pretty nice to put on your CV!)
The Company
Since there wasn't much work, not much was going on in my team.
Very well organised and structured, with lots to keep us busy!
They take a lot of time training you, making you feel welcome, giving you a diverse insight into the work the firm does, etc
