  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • A work placement at EY is a fantastic opportunity, where you are working closely with senior employees, who are experts in their field on a daily basis.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was welcomed straight away. I was treated as a permanent employee from day one.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Whenever I had questions, there was always someone willing to help me!

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I had peaks and troughs, when it came to my work amount. Some weeks I had to work very hard, some weeks I had the perfect balance and some weeks I had to generate my own work by actively asking around the office.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given far more responsibility than I was expecting, but I always felt nothing was too much.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • There are a lot of skills I will be able to take back into my degree; Attention to detail, Logical thinking, improved work ethic, ability to work with others and dealing/understanding other people better.

  • Work hard and make sure you get your work done, yet a friendly warmth

  • Well organised placement

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Took part in training sessions with the permanent members of staff, as well as web based learning exercises. Also had specialist Industrial Placement training and work colleagues invested time into bettering me.

  • Got the job in the service line I wanted.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We all got on well together.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Lived at home, but Leeds is generally quite affordable.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Commuted into Leeds from North Yorkshire, therefore can't really comment too much. I do know the nightlife in Leeds is quite good enough.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Loads of societies. I was also able to maintain my cricketing interests at a weekend.
