The Role
A work placement at EY is a fantastic opportunity, where you are working closely with senior employees, who are experts in their field on a daily basis.
I was welcomed straight away. I was treated as a permanent employee from day one.
Whenever I had questions, there was always someone willing to help me!
I had peaks and troughs, when it came to my work amount. Some weeks I had to work very hard, some weeks I had the perfect balance and some weeks I had to generate my own work by actively asking around the office.
I was given far more responsibility than I was expecting, but I always felt nothing was too much.
There are a lot of skills I will be able to take back into my degree; Attention to detail, Logical thinking, improved work ethic, ability to work with others and dealing/understanding other people better.
The Company
Work hard and make sure you get your work done, yet a friendly warmth
Well organised placement
Took part in training sessions with the permanent members of staff, as well as web based learning exercises. Also had specialist Industrial Placement training and work colleagues invested time into bettering me.
Flexi Time
Working from home
Got the job in the service line I wanted.
The Culture
We all got on well together.
Lived at home, but Leeds is generally quite affordable.
Commuted into Leeds from North Yorkshire, therefore can't really comment too much. I do know the nightlife in Leeds is quite good enough.
Loads of societies. I was also able to maintain my cricketing interests at a weekend.
