    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • It was a fantastic experience, I enjoyed the variety of activities and honestly learnt a lot about the theory behind leadership. The personal touch added to the programme made it all the more relevant to each individual and we were able to find out more about how we personally could improve and even more importantly, how to encourage others, depending on their own characteristics.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Felt very valued, we were told on a daily basis that this was a very unique opportunity and wanted us to make the most of it. Everybody was hugely encouraging and open to answering questions that we had. The fact that we each a personal report, as well as feedback at the end of the experience was extremely valuable.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • There was a lot of guidance, in the sense that we always knew what the plan was for each day and where we needed to be. Obviously, we did not know precisely what each activity entailed, but that was part of the whole experience of learning and dealing with situations under pressure.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have found that ever since completing the programme, I use the analysis we were taught, not only in work, sport and general team situations, but also in everyday life, on meeting new people. Having an understanding of the different kinds of leaders and different kinds of people is truly invaluable.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Very smooth, we knew the timetable for each day and there were never any disruptions of any kind or any waiting around. Everything was very well organised.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The general atmosphere was very dynamic, fast-paced and stimulated. It was clear that everyone wanted to be there and wanted to hone their skills and learn more. It most definitely brought the best out of everyone.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I did not expect that so many resources would be invested into each of us, it was most inspiring and encouraging. It definitely motivated us all more to make as much as possible of the opportunity.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • As this was more of an experience of personal development, rather than finding out what it was like to be at the firm, the insight helped with experiencing the atmosphere and the kinds of people who work at EY. We were able to ask any questions we had and have them answered, which definitely to help understand more about having a role with the firm.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Very helpful, as the programme itself was a reflection of the company culture: friendly, motivated and hard-working.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • It was more a skills-based programme, rather than the content of the workplace, but it was very helpful to think about the amount of responsibility and leadership needed in any given role.

    4/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Expenses were reimbursed and we were given many free gifts.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were EY employees present at all times, especially at dinner and afterwards in evenings, so there was plenty of opportunity for networking.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The networking opportunities were most useful and informative.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • We were told about all sorts of networks and activities EY employees get involved in, which was most inspiring.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I already have done to many friends, I feel like I benefited a lot from it, as did others on the programme.
