About You
The EY leadership academy taught me a great deal about how to be more effective in business and in life! I would definitely recommend this insight no matter what you are considering doing they don't try and sell the firm too much but they give a great insight into life at EY and you come away having genuinely learned something
Because its a reasonably small group of really high calibre students you get a lot of attention and support as well as being able to get to know fellow students and mentors from EY really well
The level of insight into what type of person and leader you are is amazing and they give you top notch feedback evey step of the way!
We learned a huge amount about how to motivate and lead a team as well as understanding how important character and authenticity are. This helped me a lot when I have been working in teams in my degree for group projects as well as just using the knowledge of social dynamics to have better and more effective interpersonal communication.
The Company
From arrival to finish everything is planned and the three days you spend there are action packed! They cram as much as possible into that short time and you come away absolutely exhausted!
There are always great social activities and loads of time to get to know all the amazing people that are there. The calibre of other students is so great and they come from all types of backgrounds so we all learned a huge amount from each other and got some great perspectives from people all over the country
Considering this is only a 3 day insight EY made a huge investment into me. This is some of the best and most effective training for someone who has been or is looking to go into a leadership role that exists! Everything about the leadership academy is geared around making the participants netter leaders and it's an amazing experience.
We got a great insight into what life was like at the firm from talking to the mentors that were there and also plenty of people from the business however since we weren't actually in the office it wasn't a perfect insight. We learned a lot more about the lifestyle of people who worked there as we got to see them in a more casual setting
We were really immersed in the culture as all the training they gave us was similar to what people who actually work for the company are given. It also really demonstrated to us the strengths based leadership and feedback styles which EY has throughout its recruitment process.
Doing this insight is what convinces me to choose EY over other potential companies and there is a huge benefit to learning about yourself through the leadership academy course. There is also a large section around goal setting which was incredibly helpful to me for understanding my career path and what I want to achieve in my life.
Everything Else
They reimburse all travel and pay for accommodation the food is excellent as well and you are treated very well!
Employees from EY were there as mentors in addition to some recruiters as well. The mentors develop really strong bonds with their teams and everyone gets very close. In addition to this there are people from EY who come each night to offer their insights.
Very relaxed and social atmosphere which helped us to really enjoy ourselves.
Through chatting to the employees who came in we found out about all the different sports teams and other activities that those who work at EY get involved with.
This insight will change the way you see yourself and others. It has made me more confident and self aware in a way that I had never experienced. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.
