The Role
Great company to work for with a large number of placement students and graduates on site. The placement was well organised and provided opportunities for playing sport/socialising out of work.
Colleagues are used to placement students therefore you are treat like any other employee, given plenty of responsibility and autonomy.
The company has a well organised induction programme and I had a good handover period with my predecessor. My supervisor and colleagues were always willing to provide advice and guidance when asked.
Workload varied considerably depending on deadlines for projects. A daily routine of tasks provided structure, combined with project work made a good balance.
I was provided with numerous daily processes to run, as well as given the opportunity to lead projects.
Extensive experience of Microsoft Excel which will be useful throughout my career. The professional manner and conduct I developed in meetings and projects with colleagues will be beneficial when I re-enter the workplace.
The Company
The office had a good atmosphere of being serious when required but also more light hearted when there was the opportunity to be.
Very well organised, company has an extensive placement programme therefore all training and induction is extensive.
I felt I was provided with a real role in the department rather than just shadowing/helping colleagues. The structure of the placement and range of responsibilities aided my professional development considerably.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
There are strong links between graduate and placement positions therefore future employment prospects are strong.
The Culture
Yes nights out were organised regularly and there was the opportunity to play football with placement students/colleagues after work.
I was based In Huddersfield, West Yorkshire where the cost of living is relatively low. It is only 20 minutes from Leeds which has a good nightlife.
The nightlife is Huddersfield is OK but it is relatively small. Leeds is only 20 minutes away though which has a good nightlife.
Yes, five a side football was organised through work on multiple days of the week. The gym on site is subsidised and classes are organised daily. There were numerous nights out organised through work and among placement students.
