The Role
The people were great. Lots of social events were organised to make sure we never got bored! I learned so much while I was there - overall, a great experience
We were all assigned a buddy who looked after us throughout our internship and were there to answer any questions. This made sure we felt welcome straight from the start. The colleagues I worked with during my time there were also really welcoming - EY is a very friendly environment to work in
My buddy and counsellor were both great in providing support. My buddy was there to offer advice and answer any questions, while my counsellor was there to monitor my progress, discuss goals with me and ultimately help me get the most out of my time there
Very busy - working hours were generally 9am to 6/7pm, with very little time for breaks!
Much more responsibility than I was expecting - I was responsible for carrying out audit tasks, as well as discussing matters directly with the client (at some times without supervision). I enjoyed the responsibility though and it definitely helped me get the most out of my time there!
Skills such as time-management, teamwork and communication will help be with my degree studies. The skills I learned directly relating to accountancy will help me in my future career
The Company
Very welcoming - EY is regarded highly for its friendly working environment and it certainly comes across
Communication was a little sparse leading up to the internship but during the 6 weeks of work it was pretty well organised
Very highly - we all attended 4 days of training and then were given company laptops and equipment to use throughout the internship
Company Parties/Events
I have been offered a place on the graduate scheme
The Culture
Yes - everyone was very friendly and sociable
