The Role
Best company to have an IT placement. I very much enjoyed my placement year with Caterpillar.
From day to the last day of my placement year, my colleagues made me feel as part of the team.
Throughout my placement I was able to rely on my colleagues, my supervisors, team leader and Manager for anything i felt i could not handle on my own or was beyond my capabilities.
Perfect Balance. There was always something to do in my department. Everyday was a different challenge.
I was given a fair amount of responsibilities at the start of my placement and more were added as I showed more enthusiasm and confidence as time went on.
some of the skills I learnt will be used in the implementation of my FYP.
The Company
The general atmosphere was relaxed, friendly and also professional.
Very well organised.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
Very appealing. The placement students do get called back for internships which after completion they became full employees.
The Culture
We had events organised and got the entire department involved. Also had a mini project run by the placement students.
Fairly ok, dependence on the individual spending.
Fantastic night outs
Constant events were being planned nearly every week.
