The Role
I really enjoyed the internship because I was made to feel part of the team from the very start, people were friendly and approachable and the work I produced was checked, discussed and my methods questioned to make sure I was working in the best way possible.
All members of the team were welcoming and approachable and were helpful when I asked their opinion.

Very busy, but this was a good learning experience because it gave me a great insight into the challenges that I would be faced with and the levels of commitment required to work in this environment.
I was given quite a good level of resistibility in that I was given a task and expected to complete it to a certain deadline or before it. My work was checked off and fine-tuned each time.
From my internship I have a clear understanding of how much effort is now required in this type of job and the levels of dedication that are required. The placement offered me an opportunity to have a glimpse of the highest end of the market that I could then learn from and use in my own career as a graduate.
The Company
People were focused and were concentrating on their work, so the atmosphere was good in that I could focus on my own work and not be distracted.
The staff organising the placement were excellent. Always fast when responding to emails, helpful with questions and had a genuine interest in my time at the company and my future career development.
The company invested a great deal of time and effort in my opinion. Experienced members of staff and senior surveyors always had time to ask how I was settling in and the type of work I was doing, and more often than not would tell me about their experiences as an intern and things that I could do to make the most of my time with the company.
Sports and Social Club
I am now working with the company on the Graduate course.
The Culture
Yes. All the students were friendly and all came from a different degree background so conversations were always different and never repetitive.
My pay just covered rent, living costs and travel with enough extra for one or two drinks on a friday evening.
As people worked late in the office, by the end of the week people were tired (myself included) so nightlife wasn’t great. Social drinks and coffees however more than covered it after work on a Friday evening.
No. As I was in the office first thing in the morning and away late at night so my working week was quite full. However, the staff organising the internship did organise quizzes and lunches which were always well attended and offered a chance to speak to people outside the working environment.
