The Role
I'm really enjoying my placement, almost to the extent I don't want to go back to uni!
At L'Oreal my marketing teams across different brands made me feel extremely valued and part of the team instantly. Senior members of staff were asking for my opinions and input in to projects within the first weeks.
This is one thing the managers are really good with here at L'Oreal & is a perfect example of the people culture in action. If there is anything you aren't 100% sure on, a manager will find time to sit down and talk you through any area you may need help with. This isn't exclusively just your own line manager, but managers from other brands / teams. When I have been receiving help from members of the team they have been able to give me a much wider understanding of business practises that will help with whatever I go on to do.
Very, a day goes too quickly! The days start and end fast paced, and there's always a project that you can help with.
This is the one thing that surprised me the most. On a day to day basis I'm being asked to work with senior members of the L'Oreal group, and really given a lot of opportunities to do what I want with projects and pieces of work. I was also given responsibility and freedom to add my own creative elements to really quite large projects that tens of thousands of customers will interact with.
I believe a lot. I have so many real life examples and case studies that I can discuss in upcoming relevant university work.
The Company
There is always a positive buzz around the office, even on Mondays!
Interns are given a line manager who is a kind of mentor for the year. I've found mine extremely helpful, as well as all other managers I've worked with.
Again, this is another big thing here at L'Oreal. Especially due to the graduate programme being in site, managers are always keen and willing to teach you new ways of working, and show you the industries best practises.

The Culture
I've made some great friends here at L'Oreal already. The interns are very inclusive and everyone is always welcome to any social event that's planned.
Expensive! I'm based in Hammersmith, London, so it's typical London prices everywhere.
Central London, does it get better?
We currently have a number of sports teams that anyone is welcome to get involved in. We also have a social secretary who organises events for the non-sporty!
