The Role
Great, really enjoyable placements that i would love to do again.
Really friendly and supportive colleagues, many of whom had been interns themselves.
Support was available if needed, but a large aspect of the internship was working independently and individually, which was great for me but may be overwhelming for some.
On the whole there was always enough work to keep me going. Never bored though some targets were optimistic.
The best aspect was the independence. Lunch breaks as long as you would like, arrive whenever you want, as long as you get the work done. Never felt like I was being constantly watched over either.
Had never programmed before I started, but they taught me some programming languages. Moreover, they also assisted with improving presentation skills and organisation.
The Company
Friendly and relaxed atmosphere and lots of socialising both at lunch and after work.
Metaswitch are a company built around the interns! I really felt like they did all they could to integrate us into the company.
I feel like the company really did invest in us. I believe a fair few interns return to work for them in future so I can understand why.

Company Parties/Events
Not quite got a job but have another internship with them next year!
The Culture
Intern community was very strong due to having communal company housing. Younger employees also tended to be former interns so further socialising there.
Enfield is an expensive place but the company provided tabs for drinks at local pubs and meals out so actually it was virtually free.
Not much in Enfield! Although only 25 minutes from the centre of London.
Clubs for sports and societies at lunch made it really easy to get involved, as did the on-site shower facilities and changing rooms.
