The Role
Amazing - plenty of responsibility and challenges! Extremely encouraged by managers to make the most of the internship and explore all areas I was interested in. Very well structured with rotations in two HR areas and plety of opportunity for personal and technical development.
My colleagues supported and motivated me throughout my internship. Very strong team who have vast experience and knowledge to pass on. Very easy to work with, clear communicators when briefing projects or tasks. Success is celebrated and the general feeling of team was that we felt valued for our input.
Lots of ways of recieving support either directly from my line manager or other colleagues. Additional HR support is always available if needed. Personally my line manager coached me with on the job training and always made sure I was on track and happy to answer my questions that came up.
I was ALWAYS busy. From 9-5.30, on the first rotation I had to travel between sites and work with additional teams. I could always say if I was too overwhelmed but I enjoyed being busy and was happy as I was always involved and got to work on tasks that involved all areas of the business.
We are treated as full time valued employees not as junior babies of the business - we were given serious tasks and projects that added real value to the company.
The experience at TBS/L'Oreal will improve my career prospects and I will take these transferable skills wherever I next go. However with the grad opportunities offered at L'Oreal I hope I can be progressed onto a management Trainee!
The Company
Possitive atmosphere, London office is smaller and thought of the more 'pressured' office with more colleagues staying later after 5.30pm. However my personal view wa this was down to passion for the company and roles. The south coast office has a great relaxed atmosphere and very much has 'The Body Shop' feel to it...
Very well organised with a good transition to the other rotation area. Key objectives were set at the begining of the year so I had a clear idea of what was expected from me.
Discovery workshop held for interns specifically to introduce them to the brand and culture. Induction meetings are also held with key colleagues. Interns are also given access to the vast e-learning resources.

Very appealing, there are many graduate opportunities in various functions for previous interns such as the management trainee scheme. There is general consensus among interns that the company is looking to place successful interns into graduate roles.
The Culture
Active network or interns that organise activities throughout the year and socialising is encouraged e.g. having lunch together, dinner and nights out etc.
London is always expensive so it depends on your hobbies/interests and budgeting efforts. Persoanally I was able to save money whilst working on my placement.
London has some of the best nightlife spots in the world, you'll never be bored going out here!
Lots of clubs and activities held within the office. Perhaps more so in the south coast office rather than in London but you have the freedom to set up your own!
