The Role
I was given an interesting variety of tasks while on placement at EY, I enjoyed these tasks and felt I got an insight in to what a graduate career with the company would be like.
I felt valued, I had a mentor and buddy whilst on the scheme who helped me and checked my progress. I also felt valued by being allowed to attend team social events.
I was given support and guidance when I asked for it which was an ideal situation.
I was busy generally and there was rarely a day where I was left with little to do, I found it was important to tell people when you had capacity in order to get more work if necessary.
I was given an appropriate level of responsibility completing tasks which would then be checked by others.
The skills I learnt will generally help me throughout my life.
The Company
The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. I felt I could ask questions whenever I wanted and people seemed interested in getting to know me.
The internship was really well planned. There was an initial induction followed by socializing events. The rest of the internship involved work in the office and a set of guideline goals could be used to get the optimum experience.
The company invested a lot in the interns, this included training, partner time e.t.c
Future prospects are great most interns receive job offers.
The Culture
There was a great social scene, this involved going out for lunches and nights out etc.
London is quite expensive but there is still loads of reasonably priced things to do if you look hard enough! The cost of living is generally high due to rents being expensive.
The nightlife in London is great
Whilst on placement there were a few activities to engage with after work but more open up if you join in a grad' position. These include societies and sport teams.
