The Role
The people at EY were kind, and helped me settle in. I bonded well with the other interns and got to learn more about audit.
EY paired you up with a buddy and a counsellor that would help you make the most of your experience, and the teams I was working with were very helpful.
My counsellor and buddy was always there to provide me with advise. When working at a client site it is usually the first year associates that helped me the most.
I was generally busy helping my team, however there were some days where I was unassigned work and would have to do web based learning courses instead.
I was given the same amount of responsibility as a first year associate, so I would get to speak to clients, and help towards completing the audit.
I learnt how to interact with clients, draft emails, and understand more about the audit process.
The Company
The atmosphere at EY was very welcoming, and everyone was willing to help.
The internship was well organised and there were socials to bond with the other interns, as well as days where you could shadow a partner.
EY made sure I got to visit different clients and experience a day of volunteering. they also had a two day induction to help me settle into the office. I also got feedback from each of the managers I was working with.
