The Role
I loved every minute of my placement. I t was a great experience, I was given real responsibility and treeted like a member of the team.
I did not feel like a placement student at all. My colleagues were all very welcoming, I was treated like part of the team and it was as if I had been there for years.
I always knew if I needed any help my manager was there and willing to help with whatever I needed.
Some days I had lots of things to do and sometimes it felt a little like there were not enough hours in the day, but on the whole there was a good balance and I liked the challenge and to be kept busy.
I did not feel like a placement student at all, I was given as much responsibility as any other employee. I was free to do projects on my own without constantly being watched over.
I feel that my skills have developed a great deal over the year. I feel that these skills have set me up for life in the real working world.
The Company
On the whole the atmosphere was great, you were able to get on with work while having the chance to be able to speak to your colleagues.
Very well organised, it never let like I was given work just for the sake of it because there was nothing else for me to do. I felt like it was very well planned and just like any other employee.
I have developed my excel skills beyond recognition and was helped whenever I got stuck, my colleagues were very willing to help.

Working from home
I would love to be able to go back after I graduate, I loved every minute of my placement, and loved working with my colleagues and for Cummins. They have been a fantastic company to work for. I have been able to stay on for one day I week this year so would love even more to go back as I have not had to leave. There just does' seem to be lots of graduate jobs available to apply for in comparison to the number of placement student who would love to come back.
The Culture
From what I understand social scene between placement student was good. I was not very interested in that as I have made friends with a number of my colleagues and we spent time together in social situations.
I was able to live at home and with a very good salary found it very cheap to live.
I am not very interested in these parts, also Huddersfield was my home town so knew what to expect anyway.
I was already involved with a lot of things while I was at work due to already living in Huddersfield, I had lots of opportunities.
