The Role
Very good experience and I am learning a lot.
Treated like a member of the team, despite being quite a bit younger than a lot of them.
Always given help/explanations when needed.
Quite busy most of the time, in a good way, but occasionally it would be a bit slow.
They treat you like a proper employee, so all the work you get is proper work for the company, they don't make up work for you to do. All work is usually checked by the project manager but that is protocol for normal employees as well.
Learnt to use important software and the experience is very good on the CV. Also learnt some important concepts that I think will help me out with me degree a lot.
The Company
Very professional, but comfortable. Didn't have to wear a suit everyday, just dress smart.
Set up just as if you are a new employee that they have hired, they assign you a buddy to help out getting started on the computer systems, and to show you where everything is.
Lots of training available for all sorts of software available on the computer system, and they included me on their weekend field trip for graduates and new hires which was pretty cool.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Lots of their employees did a placement with the company before being hired, they all say that the experience was valuable in getting their job.
The Culture
Not many other placement students, only about 3 or 4, but everyone is very friendly.
Not too expensive for food and drink etc., but house prices/rent costs are on the high side as it is near London.
Some pubs and clubs but nothing special
Lots of stuff going on after work.
