The Role
It was very enjoyable. I learnt many skills that I am sure will help me with my future career.
I always felt valued by my colleagues and appreciated the reward system they have in place.
I was given day-to-day contact with my supervisor and felt comfortable going to him if I ever needed support.
I was generally busy, but there were days when there was a lull in activity.
I was given responsibility for performing my own assays and reporting my results.
Even though my placement was slightly different from what I wish to do in the future, the communication skills, responsibilities and the equipment training will be useful for the rest of my degree and beyond.
The Company
It was a generally positive atmosphere where I enjoyed going to work everyday.
The overall placement was set up well, except from some miscommunication from SRG.
I didn't receive any personal development as such. Though I did take part in a CV writing and interview skills workshop.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Subsidised Canteen
Financial Bonus
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I enjoyed my time and would not mind working for them again.
The Culture
There was definitely a good social scene amongst the many placement students.
It was relatively okay.
There was one club in the city. But easy transport to London.
There were occasional opportunities to help with charities.
