The Role
Very interesting work with high level of autonomy within cash sales
Varied from desk to desk - but would not go as far to say valued, in many ways that was understandable given the intensity of the job at times
Found a couple of people I could go to for support, but don't expect that to be consistent around the trading floor!
At times I had a lot of free time to go and sit with whoever I wanted, at others I was getting in before 6 am and leaving after 9 pm - it fluctuated.
Very difficult to give much responsibility in cash sales - I was given the odd task that added value but doing this on a consistent basis was tough
The on the job learning is fantastic and this is what kept me motivated. I got a lot of fundamental knowledge out of the 9 weeks
The Company
Individualistic. The trading is much better lit than others I have been to. Reasonably relaxed too (because it was the summer..)
Good structure and events throughout
1 weeks whole training along with seminars and trading game throughout each week
Subsidised/Company Gym
Hiring rate was pretty low this year sadly!
The Culture
We had a few fun social events with excellent canapes
Anyone that doesn't know the cost of living in London shouldn't be applying to this role
Shoreditch is excellent
Not much that I was aware of
