The Role
Quite a lot. The working environment is very friendly and dynamic, with many chances to learn. People around you are really keen on helping you during your internship and meeting you
People at UBS are trying to understand your personal skills and you really feel values by their attitude towards you.
People what to understand your value; they spend time with you to help you show what you can do and if you can fit the working environment. Your line manager is always very helpful since he's often been in your shoes not a long time ago.
Days are quite busy since you're given some tasks by managers and you also need to attend organised events. In addition, you need to go around the floor and meet as many people as possible, which might be quite tiring sometimes.
Not much, since you cannot actually trade anything. However, you can be given some important internal tasks, which can be quite relevant for the trading activity.
The training was useful but you actually learn the most when you're working and when you have to deal with requests/problems. This is something that is really valuable and that will be useful throughout my whole career.
The Company
Everyone has a lot to do but people are trying to enjoy their time at the office as much as possible. People are friendly so the general atmosphere is very positive.
Lot of events and useful meetings with people inside the firm in different departments. The first week can be improved.
The firm invests a lot in interns since the program has a lot of events, meetings and the wage is pretty good.

The firm is strong at the moment and it already went through a lot of cuts, so it is definitely the place to be to grow inside UBS. The chances to improve your position inside the firm are pretty good and you have a chance to move across divisions/geographical areas if you want to.
The Culture
Definitely good. Socializing is incentivated by the firm, that organizes events so to meet each other and get to know other interns.
Not very cheap. The area around the City is quite expensive, especially for flats. However, this is a problem that is probably common for a lot of different London areas
Close to the City there are quite a lot of pubs in which it is quite enjoyable spending some time after work. However, you need to move a bit further if you want to stay out a bit longer.
London is a place that has infinite opportunities to offer, so you can always get involved in something if you want to.
