The Role
I did enjoy my internship. I enjoyed the people i was working with including my fellow interns. The social events were very good and allowed us to bond! The work was challenging.
It is hard to have any positive impact on the team due to the nature of the department
We were given buddys and the line managers were generally very approachable. The head of the internship programme was also extremely nice and open
we were kept busy, and there was plenty of opportunity to take on more work/do our own projects if we chose to
again, due to the nature of Markets and the industry interns are unable to take on my actual responsibility
I developed my research, presenting and knowledge of financial products and the markets throughout my internship
The Company
very good, very positive
extremely well organised yet flexible to allow for personal changes
plenty of learning workshops and teach ins to help education
Company Parties/Events
due to the nature of UBS, there were fears about future opportunities and many senior bankers were being let go and departments shut down
The Culture
yes there was, most weekends someone had organised something eg drinks or 5 a side football
extremely high, everything in the city is expensive
good
outside of the organised events, interns were not really encouraged or picked to participate in company activities
