The Role
I really enjoy working at Mondelez, there is always a friendly and open atmosphere in the office
I feel that the contributions I make as well as my opinions are valued as much as those made by any other member of staff
There is plenty of support and help available if you ask for it, you are not micro managed but it is just a case of asking if you want help.
Occasionally there were more quiet periods, particularly in the beginning but mostly the balance was good.
I have ownership of several projects where it is my responsibility to organise and run trials as well as reporting the data after but I did not have to do any budgetting or wider project organisation.
Although you only use a small portion of your degree whilst on placement it is learning how to apply your knowledge to a work situation that is most valuable. Also any experience of a corporate environment is invaluable.
The Company
There are a lot of events and get togethers and the atmosphere is generally good but people are busy so day to day it can be quite serious and quiet at times, particularly when lots of people are out of the office.
There were a lot of central inductions for all of the placement students and lots of training to keep us busy at the start. The only unorganised part was in waiting for information after receiving the offer.
I have been encouraged to attend a lot of training and develpopment sessions the same as any other employee, there has only been one instance where there was only one training slot available where I missed out due to my shorter time in the company.

Mondelez has been a great company to kick start my career with, I have been exposed to a lot of business operations as well as developing my engineering skills.
The Culture
I lived with other interns so it was an extension of Uni i that sense and regularly socialised with my team which was a nice chance to better get to know the people I worked with daily.
We are actively encouraged to attend volunteering events and BIrmingham has a lot going on so there is something for everyone in the area.
