The Role
I enjoyed my time with Verizon very much. Verizon is one of the few companies where the hierarchy is flat. People are always willing to help despite being a student. Closely supporting Directors is the best way to witness first hand management with strategic decisions. The placement is heavily driven by your own initiative. I gain invaluable experience and a large network.
I have been treated as a full time employee from day one and have continuously been supported by my team.
My personal and professional development has been directly linked with the good relationship I had with my managers and the people I worked with accross Europe.
i was given plenty of responsibilities during the 5 months period, really managing my time the way I wanted.
Insofar as I conducted full projects on my own I had the the feeling I was given lots of responsibilities which made me feel like I am truly contributing to the effort of the team, the company and moving forward.
Working in an international environment is more thant valuable! I was able to speak 3 languages every single day!
The Company
Great atmosphere for working. Somethime buzzing, fun, quiet or warm! People coming from everywhere around the world.
This was well organized, starting was fast, very convenient especially for a French student far from home like me. We had lots of opportunities to talk about the internship itself, my duties and my career perspectives!
To be honest I would say a lot in comparison to the 2 previous placements I performed. Training sessions and time, this is more than just "an internship" Verizon truly invest on the students they might hire in a few years.
