The Role
Throughly enjoyed working at Mondelez, no day was ever the same and each day presented a new challenege. I had a good suport network in the office and was encouraged to achieve and set my won personal goals while I was there.
I was treated like a permanent member of staff at no point did I feel under valued and was given real responsibilities.
I had weekly scheduled meetings with my manager and had a 'buddy' assigned to me if there was anything I felt I couldn't talk to my manager about. Everyone was always willing to make time in their day for me.
This varied from day to day but there was always a steady flow of work coming in. Naturally some days were more hectic than others but I learnt better time management skills from my internship. It was left up to me how I managed my time and projects so I had freedom in my work and took full responsibility for what I did.
As the year went on I was given more responsibility so it was not too overwhelming at first. I had my own projects to work on as well as the opportunity to support other on going projects within the company so I was able to gain a wide spectrum of knowledge from various professionals.
To no end the skills I have learnt here will help me when I return to Univeristy and in my future career. My internship at Mondelez has given me a great grounding for the start of my career and has helped soldify topics I covered at Univeristy and how they fit into real-life situations.
The Company
Great! I sat in an open office where I had no set desk so everyday I was sat next to a new colleague. This enabled me to network and learn new skills from new people. As a whole the atmosphere in the offices made coming into work an enjoyable experience. There were loads of team meals in town, team lunches, community events and a Christmas party!
Very well I had numerous introductions in the first few weeks when I started and it made the whole settling in process very smooth. I had clear set out monthly goals set by my Line-Manager so I was able to track my progress.
My Line-Manager was amazing, I had the opportunity to work in what ever part of the company I wished. I have gained invalubale knowledge this year which will help me no end in the future.

The Culture
The social scene was better than University! Mondelez take on a lot of interns. At my site there were nearly 30 of us. The company put us all in contact a few months before starting so we were able to organise lliving situations. We had a house of 16 of us!! Also my colleagues were always up for going out for a team meal or a few drinks in town after work.
Not too bad. Living in Selly Oak (Birmingham's Student area) was not too expensive and the quality of housing varied!
Bournville is a very quite and beautiful village so there is not a lot of nightlife but being a 15/20 minute train ride into Birmingham city centre it was the best of both worlds!
Yes always lots going on!
