The Role
I've had a really enjoyable time here, the workload has been manageable and really engaging at the same time. The company atmosphere is perhaps the best thing about working here, everyone is really friendly and easy to get along with.
My colleagues are quick to recognise whenever i've done a bit of work, whether it was small or large, I would always receive a thank you and would always feel like a valued member of the team.
I have fortnightly one to ones with my manager where we discuss what I have done and how the previous two weeks have been. We also discuss any concerns/issues that I may have had over the previous two weeks.
I feel as though it varied over the course of the placement, but it many resemebled how busy the team was as a whole. There were some quite challenging periods but on the whole the workload was managable.
From the offset i was given a lot of responsibility in the team and this grew as the weeks wore on. I felt like a valued member of the team throughout.
I feel as though i have learnt a lot during my time here and developed many of my skills. Whether it be really specific technical skills to really generic team-working/leading skills. I've learnt a lot.
The Company
The atmosphere here is really relaxed, people know that you are here to work but there's also a sense of the fact the the workplace shouldn't be a dull place where people literally just go to work. Everyone is really friendly and easy to talk to, and they all make the effort to get to know you.
I feel as though my intership has been really well organised. My roles and responisibilites were outlined to me from the beginning and it was made clear to me how my work would come and where from. I knew where to go and what to do, I was pleasantly surprised.
I went on lots of external and internal courses which the company paid for me to go on. From these I learnt a lot of skills which i can transfer to wherever i may go when i finish university.

They run an intern-to-grad programme at Telefonica, whereby if you impress in your internship you are invited to attend a special intern-only assessment centre. From this, they look to fill up the graduate programme which i think is a really good idea, and gives you an incentive to work hard!
The Culture
The social scene between the interns was good, there were regular events which we did and we went out fairly often too. The only negative about it was that this was all intern-lead and organised events, none from the company.
As i went to uni up North, the prices down South are a lot more expensive. If you head into Reading you might be able to find cheap things to do but if you go to London/Windsor it can get very expensive very quickly!
Nightlife in Slough isn't great. However Reading and Windsor are close by and relatively good nights out (though expensive if you go to windsor!). Also if you go to Reading getting there/back isn't the easiest.
Yes there were many different activities which you could get involved in, though these were mainly sports based activities - which was alright for me!
