The Role
The placement was enjoyable on a daily basis.
My colleagues were friendly and appreciative of my work.
My supervisor was supportive and answered any questions I had, but I had to be proactive to guarantee correspondance.
At times I was busy, but often completed tasks quicker than expected and was left with little to do.
I was given full responsibility for my own project.
This placement allowed me to submit my MSc dissertation.
The Company
The atmosphere was corporate at times, with a focus on getting jobs done quickly.
I had to organise the placement myself and be proactive about when I started etc. There was little organisation of what I should do during my placement until I got there.
I had no personal training or development.
Flexi Time
Financial Bonus
I was offered a job with the company but turned it down for another offer.
The Culture
Some employees, particularly the grads had a good social life.
I lived at home, so did not have to live or socialise in the immediate area, but the city itself was below national average in terms of cost.
The city of Newcastle has a busy nightlife.
I did not get invovled in any activities outside of work.
