The Role
It was a great immersion with the opportunity to rotate on different desks. The internship is well organized with plenty of events, speakers and competition that make the whole internship an opportunity to connect. Working environment is great and motivating.
Within the desks I rotated I did my best to help my team and support it and my colleagues always welcomed and encouraged my work.
Whenever I needed external help they were here to provide it. Their instructions for my tasks were always clear
What is expected from the intern can entirely be done during the normal hours, then the intern is free to find some extra time in order to do more than what is expected.
I was not given much responsibility, and this is normal because I was an intern and I lacked the required authorization to handle dealing /client facing responsibilities.
I finished my studies but the skills I developed are naturally fit to be re-used again and improved through my career.
The Company
The atmosphere were a perfect balance between the rigor required for the tasks and the natural openness of Citi staff.
The internship was perfectly organized by the HR, and the timetables of various events or deadlines were very well communicated to the interns since the beginning and through the internship.
From an organizational point of view the internship is a great investment in time. Citi employees including senior managers take on their time to assist the recruiting process and make various events specifically for the interns.

The Culture
The ambiance among the interns was great. There was a friendly competition during the various games organized specifically for us by the HR, and everybody was willing to help each other. We usually all met after work for a few drinks and most of us became friends by the end of the internship.
The area around the office is expensive in terms of rent, but not particularly in term of socializing. In any case living in London is well worth it.
The immediate neighborhood offers a lot of crowded pubs but nothing after midnight. However the area is very well connected to the whole London.
As part of the internship, there were several activities organized for the interns by the HR. In addition there is volunteering available to anyone and naturally you can practice sports with your colleagues if you wish to.
