  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • It definitely made me a stronger person, as overall the year was very busy. If I had moved branches for some of the year I think I would have had a better experience.

    • I always felt valued by my colleagues.

    • I could have used more guidance with my management trainee folder, but the managers I had were generally helpful and inspiring.

    • I was always very busy serving customers and driving cars I didn't have much chance understand the business on a wider scale.

    • I had responsibility to make sure the customers I dealt with were completely satisfied.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • My knowledge of business has grown, however my degree is in Human Resource Management and I was not exposed to this area of business in my placement year.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

    • It was always a lively office, with management making me laugh often.

    • The training days which I attended were very helpful.

    • If I ever needed help in the branch, my colleagues did not hesitate to assist me.

    • If I could work in HR then I would like to go back, however I wouldn't go back as a management trainee/ assistant.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • I made some good friends on my placement, but we organised our own social activities. We had a couple of branch pub nights and meals which was very much appreciated.

    • I lived at home for my placement.

    • I am used to Swindon nightlife as it is my hometown.

    • There were charity events which I could have taken part in but I didn't feel I had the time.
